Extinguisher Types
Each type is colour-coded to BS EN 3 standards for quick identification.
Water Extinguishers
Signal Red label
Class A fires — wood, paper, and textiles. Cools the burning material to bring the fire under control and prevent re-ignition. The most common choice for general commercial and residential environments.
Foam (AFFF) Extinguishers
Cream label
Class A fires — wood, paper, and textiles. Cools the burning material to bring the fire under control and prevent re-ignition. The most common choice for general commercial and residential environments.
CO2 Extinguishers
Black label
Electrical fires and Class B fires. CO2 displaces oxygen around the fire, extinguishing it rapidly without leaving any residue — making it the correct choice for offices, server rooms, and anywhere sensitive equipment is present.
Powder Extinguishers
Blue label
Multi-purpose — Class A, B, and C fires including flammable gases. Highly effective but not recommended for enclosed spaces due to residue and reduced visibility. Best suited to outdoor and industrial environments.
Wet Chemical Extinguishers
Canary Yellow label
Class F fires — cooking oils and fats. Wet chemical agents react with burning oil to create a cooling, soap-like layer that seals the surface and prevents re-ignition. The required solution for any commercial kitchen environment.
